What is No Follow and Do Follow

Advertising Online

When you create the text link then its code will look like this

<a href=”http://www.bloggingbasics101.com”>Blogging Basics 101</a>

If a link is tagged as NoFollow, it will look similar to this

<a href=”http://www.bloggingbasics101.com” rel=”nofollow”>Blogging Basics 101</a>

When the link is NoFollow then it will look like this but when you take of the NoFollow then it becomes DoFollow. There is no actual DoFollow tag. The absence of NoFollow tag is DoFollow tag.

Now I will explain exact procedure of this. When crawler comes to the website then it will not see the visual part i.e. images, links, text etc. but it will visit source code of the website i.e. html. Now when crawler visit a text link and if it found the link is NoFollow then it will not visit that website

Example:

There is one text link as follow:

Suppose there is one website called www.education.com and in that website there is one text link as follows:

Its code is <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Education-Nonfiction-Books/b?ie=UTF8&node=10605 rel=”nofollow”>Education books</a>

Now when crawler visits this link and found a NoFollow then it will not visit the amazon website and doesn’t pass the link juice (page rank) from www.education.com to amazon.com which will not useful to increase the page rank and when the link is DoFollow then it will pass the link juice which helps to increase the page rank.
